You do not need a long life story. A resume should show why you fit one job. In Nigeria, many employers call this document a CV.

Your free resume template

Copy the sections below into a blank document. Remove any part you do not need. Keep the headings clear.

[FULL NAME]

[City, Nigeria] | [Phone number] | [Email] | [LinkedIn or work sample link]

[TARGET JOB TITLE]

SUMMARY

[Two or three lines about your skills, useful work, and the role you want.]

SKILLS

[Skill one] | [Skill two] | [Tool you use] | [Skill that fits this job]

WORK EXPERIENCE

[Job title] | [Employer] | [Month Year to Month Year]

  • [What you did and who it helped.]
  • [A task that shows a skill the new job needs.]
  • [A result you can prove.]

EDUCATION

[Degree or qualification] | [School] | [Year]

PROJECTS OR TRAINING

[Project or course name] | [What you did or learned] | [Link if useful]

The template is free to copy. You will still need to edit it and save it with your chosen app. Check that app’s file export rules.

How to fill the template

  1. Choose one job you want.
  2. Read the skills and tasks in its job post.
  3. Add your real contact details.
  4. Write a short summary that fits that job.
  5. Add your most useful work or projects.
  6. Remove every bracket and sample line.
  7. Check the words, dates, and file layout.

A simple summary example

“Customer care worker with one year of shop experience. I helped buyers with orders and kept daily sales records. I am looking for a customer support role.”

This is a sample. Use your own job, tools, and dates. Do not copy experience that you do not have.

If you have not had a paid job

Use an internship, NYSC task, school project, or volunteer role. Say what you did. Small, real tasks are more useful than big claims you cannot prove.

  • Helped a school club track money for an event.
  • Built a sample website during a coding course.
  • Helped a local group reply to messages about a project.

Write the right label. A school project is a project, not a full-time job.

Can I use a resume maker instead?

Yes. A maker can help with page layout and editing. You should still read the final text.

You can start a CV with MantaJobs. The app has a free first-resume creation limit. Some downloads and extra features may need a plan. Check the pricing page before you pay.

If you want to use the copyable template, you can type it in Google Docs or another document app. Save a file type the employer accepts.

Google’s file download guide explains where to find downloaded files on Android.

What “free” should mean

Check if a tool is free to write in, free to save, or free for one resume only. Those offers are different.

The text template in this article is free. That does not mean every feature or export on MantaJobs is free. Read the plan details for the tool you choose.

Before you send your resume

  • Your phone number and email are right.
  • The job you want is clear.
  • All facts are true.
  • There are no brackets or sample names left.
  • The words are easy to read.
  • The file opens on your phone.
  • The file name includes your name and job title.

Common questions

Is a resume the same as a CV?

For many business jobs in Nigeria, the names can mean the same short job document. Read our guide to the differences between a CV and resume for more detail.

Can I fill this on my phone?

Yes. Copy it into a document app or browser tool. Our phone CV guide walks you through the steps.

Will a free resume get me a job?

No template can promise a job. A clear resume helps an employer see your fit. You still need suitable roles, good applications, and interview practice.

Make a first draft today. Then change it for each suitable role and keep track of your applications.
